Innovation comes to UH

This year’s top technologies will be presented at the annual UH Tech Fair from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. today in the University Center.

The Spindletop and Tejas rooms will host seminars covering a wide range of products, from WebCT to Second Life.

Outside, vendors from AT’T, Dell, Apple and other companies will display their wares for the world to see.

Expect flagship phones from Verizon, new computers from Hewlett Packard and all sorts of other goodies from other vendors. The Cougar Byte will also have a presence.

This miniature trade show is a guaranteed good time every year, and attracts people from around the area who come looking for technically inclined students who may need jobs. It’s a great networking opportunity, no pun intended, and will get anyone excited about the amazing products coming out.

This year’s theme is all about being eco-friendly, showcasing companies and University programs aimed at embracing Mother Earth while advancing human endeavors.

Attendees can win a Nintendo Wii in the door prize raffle, along with other prizes. Free food will be served, and entertainment will be provided by a break-dancing troupe. There will also be a fashion show.

This year’s Tech Fair promises to be a blast, and is sure to get anyone interested in the gizmos and gadgets that keep our society running.
