Polls open for SGA election

The polls open at 8 a.m. for the Student Government Association elections. The ballots are full of new names this year, as fewer than 10 of the 35 offices have incumbents running for re-election.

The SGA is the student body’s official representative at the University.’

The SGA president is responsible for 20 weekly office hours during which student are welcome to express their needs.The vice president oversees committees and reviews appointments to those committees.

Students elect senators who will be responsible for representing the college of their major, as well as senators at-large who are elected unattached to any specific college. Students interested in participating in the campus democracy can voice their vote online at http://www.atstudentelection.uh.edu.
