Readers of the Cougar were recently invited to attend the art exhibit at Winter Street studios where the theme of “Parallel Universes” was portrayed in art works.
A portion of the proceeds of sales were to go to the Justice for Children organization (JFC). JFC claims as its mission to be saviours of abused children. Yet nothing could be farther from the truth. It rejects the existence of Parental Alienation, one of the most insidious forms of child and adult abuse.
Furthermore amazingly it is a sexist organization believing fathers are sexual predators and women are ‘protective’ mothers.
Please reference yourselves to an article that appeared in the May 2, 2007 business section of the Houston Chronicle where one of their attorney soldiers, Alene Ross Levy, was interviewed and you will see clearly to what I refer.
I know too because my daughter and I are victims of their intrusions. They fail children and should not be supported.

Parental alienation is real and happens to both mothers and fathers. Children are suffering in silence and will be scarred for life by being manipulated and used as pawns by parents who want to gain the upper hand in court. Wake up NOW and anyone else who denounces Parental Alienation and NO I DO NOT SUPPORT PEDOPHILES OR CHILD ABUSERS
I am also a mom who has not seen her 3 sons in 4 years! Have a bad court system here. Ex is a prominent Doctor here. I am not a drug addict nor criminal. My boys are severely alienated from me. Have new trial in Jan. Also new Judge from other county that my ex won't know. My wages are garnished for $400/month child support from an Oct. 07 trial cause found out my ex was friends w/that Judge & I was getting alimony then. I am in sales & made 19K so far this year (bad economy) Alimony ran out last year. Have hope that he will be held in criminal contempt of court & show his vendetta against me. He thinks he can break me & I will give up! No way! I pray that PAS is put in the DSM-IV soon. It will be a psychological diagnosis & help save our children from these predators who brainwash our kids and damage their emotional welfare. Takes someone who specializes in PAS for counseling for them. Regular counselors just make it worse & agree with lies kids have been told. I now live my life by not being oppressed & rely on my faith in God. Lisa
Parental alienation is not only real but affecting countless parents, children and extended family members every year. Educating the public, legal and mental health professionals about how to tell the difference between false allegations of abuse and real parental alienation, and vice versa, is the key to saving children from all forms of abuse.

Justice for Children seems to appear on every websight advocating for women (not just mothers).
I have never found them on a websight advocating for men, fathers, dads, or even children.
Justice for Children acts in the interests of women, not in the best interests of children.
People need to know that parental alienation is real and it happens every day. And it IS a form of child abuse.
A Very excellent point Mr. “Houstonian” writer above. Just how many men have they helped? Since JFC is a 501 c 3 tax exempt organization, I had just written the IRS two days ago, to ask them if it requires the same analysis of such an organization! I finally got around to filing a complaint on JFC; took me too long.
Certainly they did not have the ears to hear my pleas. And ironically my daughter’s mother was out committing three major felonies while she was getting the free ‘help’ from JFC to take our daughter from me after I raised her successfully, from the time she was only eighteen months to 6 1/2.Then we were cut off completely for seventeen years. My guess is that her mother had to do something to beat herself up for acting in such an evil manner. Parental Alienation comes closest to Evil than anything I have ever experienced.

The only beneficiaries of JFC have been the legal system and all the auxiliary services to support legal processing developments in family law. Nowhere else in this entire United States will you find more song and dance artists than actors in those courts they are a circus of deceit and worse the corrupter of all that we all believed America stood for. What JFC have done is basically taken the power of the state with accompanying federal law and used them for taking profits and spreading the wealth of those who come under it's pecuniary interests all the way through the system until most cannot afford the fee subscriptions. They conduct costly seminars, producing extravagant brochures and helping the token true case every so often that they can parade to the public, but not to the point of fiscal accountability.
While under the radar and in the darkest recesses of smoke room politics they have effected the policy of the state in the simple argument of what is most expedient for the legal system and how to go about converting the public into thinking their way through their policy peddlers who not surprisingly compose 78% of the legislature of those 45% coming from the very same business family law, the best training ground. Not ever for what is best for children.
This organization has been instrumental over the last decade or so in not only coordinating federal and state funds to be allocated into go nowhere social development schemes with the most Phd's, psychiatrists and psychologists money can by for opinions and public funding scams, it pays itself extremely well. Just try and check out who actually owns and operates this very political and ideological organization and in reality who pays the price for their nefarious policies.
Judge Suzanne Stovall massacred me in a 3¼ year custody case for my, now, 7 y/o daughter.
Convicted child molesters have more access to their children than I do.
Calls, letters, & gifts are intercepted, & I have no visitation.
The mother secreted her 2mo & 14mo babies, 1200 miles from their father, & for 15½ years, her family prevented all contact.
The mother’s 18 year history/pattern of hostility, alienation, & medical mistreatment was well documented to evaluating psychologist Dr Edward G Silverman, therapist Theresa Burbank, ad litem Lynn T Coleman, the attorneys, et.al.
It is my daughter’s mother’s personality to alienate.
We must ask ourselves honestly: Are we part of the problem – or are we part of the solution?
Two very rampant forms of forms of domestic violence (leading to most domestic violecne injuries and family murders as well) are intentionally omitted from most all govt sponsored studies and stats. Domestic violence coalitions and associates actually encourage, coach and reward these hidden additional and very rampant forms of domestic violence which are very profitable to themselves, their attorneys and endless hangers-on.
1- False abuse allegations (very serious domestic violence) make up 85% to 90% of all protective and restraining orders. Over 2 million new false abuse allegations are made anually.
2- Parental Alienation (PA) child abuse is the unstoppable next step abuse result in all false abuse allegation cases involving children. PA is very real and very common. Once you familiarize yourself with it and it's effects on children, families, schools and comunities you will start noticing it all around you. PA has shocking negative effects similar to child molestation and sometimes worse for this most vast number of child victims.
PA/PAS is real To many families are suffering from it and are and will be further damaged, by it;s affect. It is way past due for all to recognize it and help educate others about it. It is a form of Domestic violence with very similar personality characteristics. I ti s alll about control and revenge , but it is done by both genders and the children are the ones that will be further scarred with the emotional abuse that this is. It is time for all to work together and it is time for DV organizations recognize this as well. These false allegations that come form PA/PAs and emotional abuse hurts everyone of both genders and by not recognizing and working to prevent this it hurt true victims of DV and their children.
It has been going on fro years and it happens in families going through divorce and intact families.
It is real and needs to be address.
Hello all, I worked at the Houston location as an intern during undergrad and nothing in this article could be farther from the truth. Remember this is an opinion not a fact. Until you have worked there you don't know – when I worked there I was taught one simple rule: Advocate for the children. It did not matter who was abusing them… MAN OR WOMAN… what mattered was the child was safe. They are an ADVOCACY ORGANIZATION….They cannot take a child away from anyone, that is the job of that state's CPS. The organization you should TRULY be upset with is the Child Protective Services. So often children get lost in the cracks despite evidence PROVING abuse in the home by a relative, friend, boyfriend, girlfriend, WHATEVER…. JFC advocates getting the child in a safe place. How many people attacking his organization have worked there, at CPS or volunteer as a child advocate? Probably not many. Until you have actually attempted to help an abused child – please do not attack organizations that do. You have no idea how many children are SAVED because of the intervention of this organization. Would you rather JFC intervene in the thousands of cases that get lost in the governmental system where a child is being physically violated by sexual abuse, beaten until their bones are broken, or locked in dark rooms with no food and water for days….or in a situation where you can request court ordered counseling for the whole family during a divorce (which my family did when I was 10 during my parent's divorce)…. yes, emotional abuse is real. But you have no idea the case load that JFC already takes on and the percentage of children being physically injured that the government organizations just let slip by.
Justice For Children claims to use the money donated to them to help the children but in reality the money goes into the pockets of the greedy lawyers that work there and consequently, the research they do on behalf of the children is not done right and the children and parents pay the price.
