The UH men and women’s basketball teams greeted fans Wednesday when they hosted the Houston Hardwood Tip-Off at the Cougar Den in the Athletics/Alumni Center.
In the 2-Ball competition the teams consisted of one player from both the men and women’s team. Players would shoot from different spots on the floor for varying amounts of points. Sophomore Kirk Van Slyke and senior Porsche Landry won the championship round outscoring seniors Adam Brown and Courtney Taylor.
In the dunk contest, Alandise Harris and Darian Thibodeaux squared off in the final round. A powerful windmill slam gave Thibodeaux the win.
