A display case caught fire in the University Center early Wednesday morning and set off the fire alarm. The sprinkler system contained the fire and the Houston Fire Department quickly responded and contained the situation.
Cpt. Ty Jones said it was a small fire and was possibly caused by an electrical short.
The UC did not suffer any major damage in the fire and no injuries were reported.
