The following is a partial report of campus crime between Oct. 1 and Oct. 5. All information is selected from the files of the UH Police Department. The information in bold indicates when the event was reported to UHPD and the event’s location. Information or questions regarding the cases below should be directed to UHPD at (713) 743-0600.
Traffic Offense – Oct. 1 4:41 p.m. – Lot 11 A— A student reported that someone struck his unattended vehicle while it was parked in a UH parking lot. The striking driver did not leave the information required by law. The incident occurred between 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Sept. 29. The case is active.
Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor/Disturbance – Oct. 1 1:22 a.m. — A UH DPS security officer reported a disturbance in lot 9 C. After an investigation, a UH DPS police officer gave a visitor a campus-wide criminal trespass warning and issued an underage student a citation for consumption of alcohol by a minor. The student also received a Student Life Referral. The incident occurred at 1:22 a.m. Oct. 1. The case is cleared by citation.
Criminal Mischief – Oct. 2 4:01 a.m. – Moody Towers— A student broke a fire extinguisher door in the Moody Towers after arguing with his girlfriend. The student received a Harris County citation and referrals. The incident occurred between 4 a.m. and 4:03 a.m. The case is cleared by citation.
Theft – Oct. 2 8:54 p.m. – Engineering Complex — A student reported seeing a suspicious person in the area of the UH engineering building. After an investigation, it was discovered that the suspicious person left the area and the student discovered his backpack was missing. The incident occurred between 8:40 p.m. and 8:59 p.m. Oct 2. The case is active.
Criminal Mischief – Oct 3. 8:26 a.m. – Biomedical Bldg. — Someone pulled apart and damaged the remote electrical wiring of three scissor lifts on the third and fourth floors of the biomedical building construction site. The incident occurred between 5:30 p.m. Oct. 1 and 7 a.m. Oct. 3. The case is inactive.
Theft – Oct. 3 1:04 p.m. – Lot 16 F — A student reported that someone stole his unattended and unsecured motorcycle while it was parked in lot 16 F. The incident occurred between 12:13 p.m. and 1:05 p.m. Oct. 3. The case is active.
Theft – Oct. 3 2:30 p.m. – South Park Annex — A student reported that someone stole her wallet from her purse that she left unattended and unsecured in the wood shop area of South Park Annex. There are no suspects. The incident occurred between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Oct. 3. The case is inactive..
Theft – Oct. 3 8:23 p.m. – Calhoun Lofts — A student reported that someone stole her unsecured and unattended electronic tablet from the Calhoun Lofts. There are no suspects. The incident occurred between 11:00 p.m. Sept. 30 and 12 a.m. Oct 1. The case is inactive.
Theft – Sept. 29 1:56 p.m. – Athletic Alumni Bldg. — A student reported that someone damaged his vehicle while it was parked in lot 20 C. The incident occurred between 11:30 a.m. and 9 p.m. Sept. 28. The case is active.
Theft – Oct. 3 9:45 p.m. – Lot 15 F — Someone stole a student’s unattended motorcycle from lot 15 F. There are no suspects. The incident occurred between 11 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. Oct. 3. The case is active.
Public Intoxication — Oct. 5 1:53 a.m. – East Parking Garage — A visitor was detained and arrested for Public Intoxication and released to a responsible adult. The incident occurred between 1:45 a.m. and 1:53 a.m. Oct. 5 . The case is cleared by arrest.
