The Internet has also been abuzz with the musical stylings of Houston’s own Buxton.

At a “listening party” on Friday for the band’s debut album, “Nothing Here Seems Strange,” the ensemble played to a packed audience that ran the age gamut.

Montrose hipsters mixed with aging hippies and a bevy of other characters at the group’s first album kick-off at Cactus Records.

The 45-minute set gave the crowd a solid feel of the album and the band’s performing skills.
