Smooth sailing for UH against Pirates

The Cougars took two-of-three from ECU with a big weekend from their offense.
UH run-ruled ECU in the series opener 13-5 thanks to a 8-for-12 effort at the plate from its top three hitters.
Freshman Jamie Edwards grand slam propelled UH to a 6-2 win in the second half of Saturday’s double-header at Cougar Softball Stadium.
In Sunday’s series finale, the Cougars’ seventh-inning rally fell just short, as ECU won 7-6.
UH is tied for second in Conference USA and just a game out of first place.
