UH catcher named All-American

University of Houston softball player Haley Outon has been named Third Team All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Outon tied a NCAA record during the 2011 season around with a home run in six consecutive games between May 1 and May 11. She was also named Conference USA player of the week on May 7.

She was also a master of the base path stealing 10-of-11 bases and gunning down nine runners.

Outon led the Cougars in home runs (22), RBIs (64), runs (49), batting average (.368) and slugging percentage (.805).

She caught every game this season for UH including two no-hitters on the way to becoming the fourth Cougar to be named an NFCA All-American.
