At approximately 5:40 p.m., a University of Houston student was struck by a green Ford F150 near the Jack J. Valenti School of Communications near Lot 16C and Cullen Boulevard.

The student was exiting through the breezeway between the communications building and the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts.

According to a UH Department of Public Safety officer, the incident was accidental. A Houston Fire Department ambulance from Precinct 25 arrived shortly after, administered first-aid and loaded the student into the ambulance with a stretcher.

The driver of the truck remained for police to arrive.
