Organizations, departments vie for funding in SFAC presentations

Every year, the Student Fee Advisory Committee hears presentations from student organizations and University departments and recommends the funding allocations for Student Service Fees, based on independent needs of each group.

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in the University Center Bluebonnet Room, organizations and departments including the Student Government Association, Homecoming Board,  Counseling and Psychological Services, the New UC Project, Metropolitan Volunteer Program, Campus Recreation and The Daily Cougar will stand in front of a board of seven students, two faculty members and one nonvoting adviser to request funds for the next fiscal year — Fall 2013 to Spring 2014.

After the presentations conclude Nov. 4, SFAC board members will deliberate and forward allocation recommendations to the Vice President for Student Affairs, Richard Walker, and to UH President Renu Khator. The two will make the final decisions based on SFAC recommendations.

Edit at 12:40: p.m. Monday: SFAC gives funds to University departments and not just student organizations.
