Senior defensive back injured in practice

UH senior defensive back D.J. Hayden was transported by ambulance to Memorial Herman Hospital after sustaining an injury during practice Tuesday afternoon.

Hayden was named Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week after intercepting two passes including a 97 yard return for touchdown in a 45-35 victory over UTEP earlier this season.

The 2011 Conference USA Defensive Newcomer of the Year led the Cougars with 11 passes broken up a season ago.
