Student Government

SGA filing period begins

Candidates for the upcoming Student Government Association elections can now turn in their applications to the Elections Commission.

Positions available include president and vice president, senator-at-large and college senators.

All students in good academic standing are eligible to run for government positions. A candidate can run alone or with a party, but presidential and vice presidential candidates must run as a pair on the same ticket.

The filing period started Monday and will extend until 5 p.m. on Feb. 5.

Applications can be found at the Dean of Students, SGA and Center for Student Involvement offices and will soon be available on SGA’s site. All applications should be returned to the SGA office in the New UC North, Room N220.

The Election Commission is under the umbrella of CSI and is located in the New UC North, Room N103.
