Students, alumna come out against immigration practices

Alumna Ana Hernandez Luna and three UH students will host “Coming Out Action” from noon to 1 p.m. today in the University Center Circle Drive, speaking about their personal stories and insights regarding higher education for immigrant and undocumented youth to raise awareness about the immediate need for reform in the nation’s immigration and education system.

Students Minelya De Leon, financial officer for the Youth Empowerment Alliance; Karla Perez, Mexican American Studies Student Organization president; and Cristian Gonzalez, YEA public relations specialist, will share their stories of struggle in the country’s immigration and education system.
