Nolan picks up weekly honor after top performance in Austin

Senior sprinter Errol Nolan was named the American Athletic Conference Male Track Athlete of the Week for his top performances at the Texas Invitational on Saturday in Austin.

Nolan led the Cougars to a second-place finish (124 points) behind Texas (184 points). It was his first individual appearance of the 2014 season.

Nolan took first place in the men’s 400-meter dash with a time of 46.55, the best time this season by any Cougar. He also scored +4.9 for the Cougars after finishing third in the 200-meter with a time of 20.62 (+4.9).

Nolan anchored men’s relay teams and helped the 4×100-meter to a win with a time of 40.19, the second-best time of the season. The men’s 4×100-meter relay team still holds the fastest time in the conference (39.89) and the seventh-fastest time in the region, 14th in the nation.
