Website gives students early look at syllabus

A college student at the University of Buffalo has created a website to help students across the nation with class registration.

“The current college and university system is rigorous, and students need every advantage that they can get,” said Bryan Krajewski in an email. “This is what my website offers — an advantage to students.”

Krajewski said he came up with the idea to launch SyllabusRate.com in January 2013 and opened it to the public in December.

“I was a student who would register for the maximum amount of credit hours each semester, get the syllabus on the first day of class, then add and drop courses until I finally got a course load that I liked,” he said.

Intended to help students like himself, the website allows students to view and upload class syllabuses, rate each class they have taken out of five stars, and leave comments or feedback about the course for other students.
