Longhorns’ pair of aces trumps Cougars, final score 4-2

UT took a 1-0 lead in the best of three series behind the arms of Longhorn pitchers Nathan Thornhill and John Curtiss. Texas edged out UH 4-2 in the opening game of the Austin Super Regional.
UH batters were handcuffed by the two Longhorn pitchers, who allowed only one earned run, while UH starter Jake Lemoine lasted only 4.2 innings before being relieved by Bubba Maxwell and Tyler Ford.
The second game of the series is set for tomorrow at 1:05pm and will air on ESPN.
