The Houston Zoo and the UH Alumni Association will celebrate the birthday of UH’s live mascot Shasta IV.
The festivities will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Houston Zoo. Those who wear UH attire before noon will get in free.
The pride of UH will receive his cake at 10:30 a.m., and visitors can sing “Happy Birthday” to the wild feline.
Visitors can also get involved with Cougar Craftmaking. In addition, Shasta fans can adopt him and make a $75 contribution that will go toward Shasta’s care and UHAA’s scholarship programs.
