Piper joins Academic All-District Team
Junior punter Logan Piper was named to the Capital One Academic All-District 7 Team Thursday afternoon, announced by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America.
Piper is now eligible for advancement to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot that will be voted on later this month, possibly landing him a spot on the first- second- or third-team All-America.
Piper has been huge for the Cougars this season, as he currently averages 39.4 yards per punt with three kicks eclipsing 50 yards, one of which was a career-long 54-yard punt against UNLV, and his academic performance is just as strong.
To be considered for the Academic All-America Team, Piper must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 on a 4.00 scale while reaching sophomore status and receive a nomination from the Houston sports information director.
