Fraternities and sororities displayed their talents for the crowed Cullen Performance Hall on Wednesday night.

Homecoming Week brought the spirit out of the performers as the audience cheered from start to finish. Each performance was a depiction of how Tulane will be embarrassed by the home crowd . At the end of the night, judges chose one affiliation as the winner of the talent show.

Not everyone in the crowd was custom to the activities during Homecoming Week. Business sophomore Quintin Dean attended the talent show because “this is our first year here, so it’s something new.”

Quintin’s friend, business sophomore Aisha Millican-Bowers came from the same school the year before. Millican-Bowers explained the positive aspects of attending a large university like University of Houston, since “community college don’t have homecoming so, I mean, it’s kind of fun.”

Biomedical engineering freshmen, Colt Burnham, believed the atmosphere was intriguing as he thought it was “good to see all the fraternities, sororities.”

Each representing Greek affiliation created a dance routine showing their Cougar pride. But after three acts, there was an intermission. And a 30-minute intermission is one way to upset the crowd. While it began with a jam-packed auditorium, it ended half full.

Frustrated with the long wait, those who left did miss out on the best two performances of the night.

The last two created a Saturday morning cartoon environment; super hero characters came to save the day from Tulane’s plans. With the help of Hakeem “The Dream” Olajuwon, Super Shasta, and other well known UH alumni they were able to defeat the Tulane students trying to take over. The other great performance had Shasta being rescued from the Tulane circus.

Strut Your Stuff was another successful event showing the pride that every Cougar has on campus.
