New phishing email scam detected on campus

A phishing email, containing the subject headline, “Confirm Your New Salary As Adjusted,” (sic) has been identified.

The email address may present itself as if it were sent via a UH email or an external address. The signature also contains, “Human Resources University of Houston,” sans contact information.

IT Security Executive Director Mary E. Dickerson said in a campus-wide email that the message is not official, and no one should click on the links.

She warns that if students or faculty have already clicked on the link, to notify UIT security at [email protected] or (832) 842-4695.
