Loud noises from central plant a result of testing
April 23, 2015
The loud, screeching sound coming from the central plant next to the M.D. Anderson Library is a result of valve testing, according to a University spokesperson.
The plant’s contractor is testing a new valve throughout the day. The noise, while alarming, is created by the valve’s steam and is not an indicator of anything unsafe.
You might want to invest in earplugs, though — the testing is expected to continue through the remainder of the day.
