If you ate at Fresh Food Company at Moody Towers last week, you might have noticed something different.

A recognition wall honoring current and former members of Student Housing and Residential Life boards and councils was added at the entrance. The wall also recognizes senior resident advisers and desk assistants.

“The idea behind the recognition wall is to promote student leaders in housing and recognize them for their leadership and contribution in UH’s aspiration to become a Tier One residential life campus,” said civil engineering junior and Student Government Association Vice President Tanzeem Chowdhury, who is honored on the wall.

The wall began two years ago as the idea of Chowdhury — then a SGA senator — presented the idea for the wall with fellow Senator Clint Kirchhoff. The idea was taken up by the housing department, where they narrowed down design ideas. The project was completed on April 15.

“(The wall) creates more visibility for housing student leaders,” Chowdhury said. “(It) both empowers and encourages them to make a bigger difference for the lives of the residents on campus and beyond.”
