While this past weekend might have been lighter on action with only eight active teams, it provided a good look at the conference contenders.

The week of action kicked off on Thursday with a matchup between reigning AAC-champion University of Memphis and the University of Cincinnati.

The Tigers protected home field in a shootout, recording the winning score in the final minute to seal the win over the Bearcats, staying perfect this season.

As Memphis moves to 4-0 on the season and 1-0 in conference, Cincinnati falls to 2-2 on the season, while remaining winless in conference games, with their other loss coming against the University of Temple.

On Saturday, the United States Naval Academy traveled to their first conference road game in history, as they made their way to Storss, CT. for a game against the University of Connecticut.

The Midshipmen had some trouble with the Huskies, but, behind three touchdowns for their quarterback, powered to a 28-18 win.

Navy now sits at 3-0 this season, with a pair of AAC wins, while the Huskies move to .500 at 2-2, with one conference loss.

The University of Central Florida looked to bounce back from their disappointing loss to an FCS-opponent against the University of South Carolina.

The Knights struggled against their Southeastern Conference foe. They ultimately fell by a score of 31-14, and are winless this season.

The East Carolina University Pirates fared better in their matchup against Virginia Tech, claiming a seven-point win over their competition from the Atlantic Coast Conference and improving to 2-2 this year.

Southern Methodist University hosted James Madison University in another shootout involving an AAC team, but they suffered a three-point loss, falling to 1-3 this year.

Finally, The Cougars played host to Texas State University and ran all over the Bobcats, winning by a final score of 59-14, improving to 3-0 following their bye week.

The conference picture remains much the same this week with Navy, Memphis and UH remaining at the top of the AAC West. Navy leads the pack with a 2-0 record in conference play.

In the East, Temple sits alone at the top, with the only perfect record in their division and a 1-0 record in conference play.

The Cougars will travel to take on the University of Tulsa next Saturday in their first conference game of the season, with kick-off slated for 11 a.m.
