Campus Prowl to teach students about their university

On Tuesday, students will have the opportunity to take part in Campus Prowl, an event designed to get students to explore the enormous, and sometimes intimidating, campus.

Starting at 11 a.m. students will carry their “Prowl Passport,” which they can get at any department or college or the Student Center South Information desk, and Cougar Card to terminals where students can learn about the area of campus and department. This is an easily accessible way to gather information about campus services that students might not come in contact with regularly.

There will be three “classes” or prizes — Economy, Business and First class. The lowest prize is a Campus Prowl T-shirt and entry into drawings for a luggage set and a $300 Airline gift card.

Students who aim for an Economy class prize need to collect a stamp from each zone, while those striving for the First Class prize must get one stamp from each zone and stamps from two entire zones.

20 Departments, from Campus Recreation to the new Hobby School of Public Affairs, will take part in Campus Prowl and host zones. Every zone will feature free food.
