Reawaken the Force, make helpful sandwiches this weekend
7 to 10:30 p.m., Saturday, Discovery Green
Show your allegiance to the Force, the Dark Side or just the “Star Wars” universe in general at this free screening of J.J. Abrams’ spectacular entry to the saga. The film has made $2 billion worldwide — almost half of that is in the U.S. alone.
4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Sunday, McMurty PDR at Rice University
Volunteers are wanted for this fun and fast-paced charity event. Team up and make 400 PB&J sandwiches and sack lunches for the homeless in two hours. At 7 p.m., everyone will get a chance to deliver the food to Food Not Bombs.
1 to 5 p.m., Saturday, Menil Park
A “no money, no barter, no sale” event. Give to the community or find what you need here this weekend. Click the event title to read the basics — they’re pretty important.
8 to 10 p.m., Saturday, Miller Outdoor Theatre
There’s no such thing as too much when we talk about dancing. See it as a form of entertainment, as a channel to good health and as a bridge that connects us at this event.
7 p.m., Sunday, House of Blues
The Dublin-based electronic musician is coming to Houston — better be prepared to think too much of him as you sway to his electrifying tunes. All ages can attend. Get your tickets now.
