The Cougars fell out of the top 10 in the latest AP Top 25 rankings, following the loss to the United States Naval Academy Midshipmen.

Houston sits at No. 13 entering week seven and will look to rebound at home against the University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane.

Despite the loss, the Cougars are still the highest-ranked group of five school, although Boise State University sits two places behind them at No. 15. UH could finish the season ahead of Boise State in the AP, but the order of where teams are ranked will ultimately be left to the College Football Playoff Selection Committee.

The Western Michigan University Broncos and Navy are also two group of five teams that made the cut after the newest AP poll came out. The Broncos are No. 24 and the Midshipmen round out the list at No. 25.

The top five remained the same after all of the teams won their respective games.

The Texas A&M University Aggies moved into the sixth spot following their double overtime win over the University of Tennessee. The Aggies replaced the Cougars as the highest-ranked team in Texas.

The University of Wisconsin Badgers benefited from their bye week and moved back into the top 10 to No. 8.

Tennessee remains at No. 9 even after the loss to TAMU and the University of Nebraska jumps into the top 10 for the first time this season.

In addition to the Aggies and the Cougars, the Baylor University Bears are the other ranked Texas team and come in two spots ahead of UH at No. 11.

The University of Mississippi Rebels are sandwiched in between Baylor and Houston at No. 12.

After two early losses, Florida State University cracked the top 15 after beating the University of Miami, who dropped from 10th to 16th.

The Virginia Polytechnic Institute Hokies made the biggest leap in the latest rankings after beating the formerly-ranked University of North Carolina 34-3. The Hokies went from No. 25 to No. 17.

The University of Florida remained at No. 18 after their game against Louisiana State University was canceled due to Hurricane Matthew.

The University of Oklahoma made a one-spot move into 19th after their 45-40 victory over Big 12-rival University of Texas.

Like Wisconsin, West Virginia University managed to move up following a bye week and sits at No. 20.

The University of Utah hurdled three spots to No. 21 at the heels of their 36-23 win over Arizona State University.

Two Southeastern Conference teams, the University of Arkansas and Auburn University, are No. 22 and No. 23. Arkansas fell six spots after losing to the University of Alabama, and Auburn made the list for the first time this season.
