As the Homecoming weeklong celebration comes to its finale, students will showcase their spirit for UH at the annual Strut Your Stuff talent show Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Houston Room at the Student Center South.

Individuals and teams will compete for awards and recognition in front of an audience of students and faculty. The students work together to create skits, presentations and routines that will make it to everyone’s Snapchat and their hearts.

As a tradition, students revolve their performances around the homecoming theme. This year’s theme is “True We’ll Ever Be,” a phrase meant to highlight the loyalty and connection that students have with UH. In the past, Strut Your Stuff has kept to a contest involving fraternities and sororities but recently has grown to involve all sorts of groups and people from the University.

Since the 1970s, Strut Your Stuff has been a highly successful event on campus. This year is anticipated to be a big one: The event will be one hour longer than 2015’s event, which ran from 5 to 7 p.m.

Strut Your Stuff and Homecoming Week is set to provide students with a much-needed break to prepare for the end of the semester.
