The Silver Glove Series returns this week on Tuesday as the Cougars try to avoid the disaster that happened last week.
After Rice defeated the Cougars 9-0, Houston went on to sweep ECU over the weekend. Rice, on the other hand, dropped their series against Louisiana Tech 1-2.
The main problem last week for the Cougars was finding consistency on the mound.
They went through five pitchers over the nine innings and allowed nine runs on 15 hits. If the Cougars can find someone to replace sophomore Trey Cumbie, who now pitches on Friday, they are primed to take game two in the Silver Glove Series.
The game is scheduled for Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Rice’s Reckling Park.
