A toddler was accidentally served a margarita last week at a California Applebee’s, the Associated Press reported.
The 2-year-old boy consumed the mix in a child’s cup, after which he fell ill and was taken to a hospital.
"I wasn’t going to make a big deal about it," mother Kim Mayorga told a local newspaper. "But then he got sick."
A regional vice president for Applebee’s said that the error occurred because the company used identical containers for apple juice and for margaritas, adding that Applebee’s would pay the family’s medical fees and change drink containers.
"If they think I’m going back there, they’re ridiculous," Mayorga said.
