Campus Crime Report

The following is a partial report of campus crime between Friday and Saturday. All information is selected from the files of the UH Police Department. The information in italics indicates when the event was reported to UHPD and the event’s location. Information or questions regarding the cases below should be directed to UHPD at (713) 743-0600.

Damage to property: 1:49 p.m., Friday, Elgin Avenue and Cullen Boulevard – A UH ground

worker damaged a UH student’s vehicle with a weed eater while the grounds worker was performing lawn service. Occurred at 1:49 p.m. Friday

Theft: 3:10 p.m., Friday Armistead Optometry Bldg. – A student reported that someone stole her wallet from her unattended and unsecured bag which was sitting on the floor in Room 1424 of the Optometry building. There are no suspects or witnesses to this incident. Occurred between 8:00 and 11:20 a.m. Friday.

Burglary of a motor vehicle: 4:37 p.m., Friday, Lot 17C – A UH staff member reported that someone burglarized her unattended and secured vehicle while it was parked. There are no witnesses or suspects at this time. Occurred between 7:30 a.m. and 4:35 p.m. Friday.

Disorderly conduct: 4:33 p.m., Friday, Health Center – UH Health Center staff members reported that a UH student and a visitor were causing a disturbance at the reception desk. The UH student was issued a UH DPS Student Life Referral and released. The visitor was issued a criminal trespass warning for the Health Center and released. Occurred between 4:15 and 4:33 p.m. Friday.

Theft: 4:43 p.m., Friday, Welcome Center – A UH staff member reported that someone stole a wireless keyboard, mouse and receiver. The thefts took place two weeks prior to the report. There are no suspects or witnesses. Occurred sometime between June 6 and June 20.

Harassment/terroristic threat: 11:43 p.m., Friday, Cullen Oaks Apartments – A UH student reported that her ex-boyfriend came to her Cullen Oaks apartment and was harassing her. The student contacted the UH Departmebt of Public Security and the ex-boyfriend was gone when officers arrived. While police officers were on the scene, the ex-boyfriend contacted the student by telephone threatening to commit physical harm to her, management staff, security officers and police officers. A warrant will be obtained for terroristic threat and harassment. Occurred 1:35 a.m. Saturday.

Terroristic threat/possession of a controlled substance: 12:36 a.m. Saturday, Cougar Place Apartments – A UH visitor was arrested at Cougar Place Apartments for possession of a controlled substance. The visitor was transported and released into the custody of Harris County deputies. The visitor is also believed to be involved in a previous case of threats made against residents at Cougar Place. Occurred between 12:36 and 3:38 a.m. Saturday.
