AT ISSUE: A Gallup Poll released last week showed 64 percent of Americans disapprove of how President George W. Bush is doing his job. Do you believe Bush is an incompetent leader? Why or why not?
Bush and friends all dysfunctional, some more than others
Oh, how the political tides shift against our once beloved leader.†President Bush had it all, with 91 percent of the American public behind him and the entire American political system at his disposal. His address to the nation following the terrorist attacks was met with cheers not seen since Agamemnon left for Troy.
Now we can all point out the obvious gaffes that Bush has gotten the American people into, but I would rather focus on his gaggle of cronies who humiliate the administration and destroy freedom.
John Ashcroft’s idea of freedom was a Stalinesque system where people basically spy on each other for "suspicious activity." Alberto Gonzales, although the head prosecutor of the nation, was not aware that there is an explicit right to writ of habeas corpus.
This is only a small taste of the people that Bush appointed, all of who would kiss his boots, but if they dared talk back to him they would be forced to resign.†
Bush was friends with all of his appointments, and like an angry lover, would seek revenge on them once spurned.†
A president should base his or her appointments on the person’s track record, not because they are good friends.†

Of course Bush is incompetent, just look at the past four years
Let’s look at one of the many descriptive aspects of President Bush’s term: the war on Iraq. "Deja-vu" was the comment I heard from a lot of people as they saw the news plastered around the globe when the United States was first looking into the issue of occupying Iraq.
After all is said, bombed and over with, even United Kingdom’s government has stepped up to give out the statement that the whole case was due to fake "intelligence."
Politicians have a responsibility as mature adults to not play games with the minds and emotions of the rest of the country.
The U.S. Administration bears the responsibility of billions of people, and had Bush considered an alternative path to resolve problems abroad it would definitely have been a step toward world peace. Apparently, alternative plans and damage control are weak points of the Bush administration.
There are many ways a dilemma in Iraq could have been solved. Isn’t that what the United Nations is for?
Does the war in Iraq make him an incompetent leader? If only this point is considered, then my answer would be yes. Bush’s operation is based on deceit, and in no way should a country be ruled by such a leader.

The president shows no qualities of being an adept leader
I think that President Bush is an incompetent leader because he has failed to adequately perform his duties as leader of the free world.
After the Republican Party’s and conservative media’s initial ill-gotten victory that granted him the presidency, he has failed to lead or represent the United States.
Although he cleverly avoided combat himself, his bloodlust has created a worldwide disgust for our country. As soon as he took office, he began pointing fingers at countries he wanted to invade and governments he intended to overthrow.
He is like the bully that runs behind his mommy’s skirt, taunting people from his safe position.
Bush decided that he could pick on whoever he wanted and the United States would just have to clean up the mess he made.
He also managed to spend the entire surplus and create a steadily increasing deficit thanks to the War(s) on Terror.
Bush also changed Medicare for current senior citizens, making it more difficult and more expensive to get the medicines they need.
Although he has all the qualities of a politician, deceit, power-hunger and arrogance, he has yet to demonstrate any qualities necessary to be a good president
