The following is a partial report of campus crime from Thursday to Monday. All information is selected from the files of the UH Police Department. The information in italics indicates when the event was reported to UHPD and the event’s location. Information or questions regarding the cases below should be directed to UHPD at (713) 743-0600.
Disorderly Conduct: 11:29 p.m. Thursday, Moody Towers – A student reported a group of males were throwing unknown objects at her vehicle and cursing at her while she was at the Moody Towers ramps. The objects thrown were later identified as jelly beans and no damage was done to the vehicle. The four males were issued Harris County citations for Disorderly Conduct, given Criminal Trespass Warnings for the campus and released. Occurred at 11:29 p.m. Thursday.
Graffiti: 10:11 a.m. Saturday, University Center – A UC Games Room employee reported graffiti in the area of the bowling alley. Additionally, graffiti was found in the restroom adjacent to the Games Room and the outside loading dock. There is no video and no witnesses. Occurred at 10:11 a.m. Saturday.
Evading Arrest:1:49 a.m. Sunday, Robertson Stadium -Officers attempted to detain three UH students near Robertson Stadium for suspicious activity. Before the individuals could be detained for questioning they fled the area on foot. One student was located and eventually arrested for evading detention. Information was gathered on the other two students and a warrant will be obtained at a later date. Occurred between 1:49 and 2:19 a.m. Sunday.
Motor Vehicle Theft: 9:06 p.m. Sunday, Lot 1B – A visitor reported that he parked his unattended and secured vehicle in UH Lot 1B. When he returned he discovered that someone had stolen his vehicle. There are no suspects or witnesses at this time. Occurred between 6:15 and 8:55 p.m. Sunday.
Terroristic Threat: 8:25 p.m. Monday, Sonic restaurant – The manager at UH Sonic reported that a possibly known person repeatedly called the restaurant and harassed employees and on one phone conversation stated that there was a bomb in the restaurant. An investigation is under way. Occurred between 5:55 and 6:02 p.m. Monday.
Possession of Marijuana: 11:20 a.m. Friday, 3718 Anita Street – While police officers were retrieving UH property from a student at his off-campus residence, marijuana was observed in plain view. The student was arrested for possession of marijuana, transported and released to the Harris County jail. Occurred between 11:07 a.m. and 11:20 a.m. Friday.
