Five Minutes: Starbucks boss not afraid to be fashionable

Teraisha Warren: Are you a student here?

Jason Bell, Starbucks manager: No. I actually attend San Jacinto College and The Art Institute.

Warren: OK. What are you going to do for spring break?

Bell: I’ll be here training people for Starbucks’ ASTA certification.

Warren: Are you going to do anything fun?

Bell: I get off all week early. I think I’m going to go to the beach on Sunday. It’s Galveston, so it’s not really anything major – just hanging out with the family, my nephews flying kites, going to the park.

Warren: How many you got?

Bell: Four nephews (and) four nieces.

Warren: You go to San Jacinto. Do you want to be an artist or go into design?

Bell: Graphic design and fashion design. When you go to the Art Institute, you take everything in. It’s better because I can’t draw and we do everything on the computer, so I kind of have it easy.

Warren: But you want to focus on the fashion part of it?

Bell: Yeah. I do some modeling now, and I just feel like if I’m not successful as a model, I can do some fashion or interior design.

Warren: What made you want to go into fashion?

Bell: Modeling. I am a fashion connoisseur. I love fashion.

Warren: I have a shopping issue.

Bell: My sister just admitted her problem earlier today.

Warren: I have a closet full of shoes that are still in boxes that I have never worn. I will buy outfits later, but right now I’m just going to keep buying shoes.

Bell: Shoes always fit. I am the type of person if I see you and you look good, you’re hot, you’re sexy… I like to tell people that.
