The following is a partial report of campus crime between July 10 and Wednesday. All information is selected from the files of the UH Police Department. The information in italics indicates when the event was reported to UHPD and the event’s location. Information or questions regarding the cases below should be directed to UHPD at (713) 743-0600.
Theft: July 10, 12:15 p.m., University Hilton Hotel – A staff member reported someone stole a portrait from the wall on the first floor of the University Hilton south wing. There are no suspects or witnesses. Occurred sometime after Sept. 1, 2007.
Theft: July 11, 11:14 a.m., University Center – Numerous unauthorized long distance telephone calls were made and billed to a phone number assigned to the University Center Administration office. An investigation is under way. Occurred between 11:49 a.m. April 17 and 4:55 p.m. May 15.
Theft: July 11, 2 p.m., University Center – A visitor attending orientation at the University Center reported he misplaced his wallet at the Food Court and when he returned for it, he discovered it was missing. There are no suspects or witnesses. Occurred between 1:30 p.m. and 1:40 p.m.
Criminal Trespass: July 12, 1:36 a.m., Cullen Oaks Apartments – A UH DPS security officer stopped a visitor attempting to enter the south entrance of Cullen Oaks Apartments. The visitor then left and tried to enter the north entrance. It was determined the visitor had no UH affiliation and was issued two campus-wide Criminal Trespass warnings in 2008. The visitor was arrested for Criminal Trespass and transported and released to the Harris County jail. Occurred between 1:30 a.m. and 1:38 a.m.
Public Intoxication: July 12, 11:37 p.m., Robertson Stadium – An intoxicated visitor, posing a danger to himself and others, was observed trying to pick a fight with other spectators. The visitor was arrested for Public Intoxication without further incident. Occurred at 11:37 p.m.
Possession of Marijuana: July 15, 7:02 p.m., 11A – Prior to a Dynamo soccer game, two Aramark employees were discovered smoking marijuana in a vehicle. The employee possessing the marijuana was arrested without incident for Possession of Marijuana and released to Harris County Jail. Occurred at 7:02 p.m.
