Students escape robbery unharmed

Three students fell victim to a case of attempted aggravated robbery when traversing the northeast part of campus Wednesday night.

The students said they were walking on the sidewalk on the eastside of Calhoun Road, beside the Optometry Building, when a black male driver pulled up alongside the students and demanded they give up their belongings.

Two of the students continued walking while the other turned to look in the direction of the vehicle. The complainant said the passenger pulled out a shiny, chrome-like pistol.

Then, the car drove away in the north direction on Calhoun Road. No items were reported stolen and none of the complainants suffered any physical injury.

The complainants said because of the nature of the incident they were unable to obtain any further details pertaining to the suspect’s description.

The UH Department of Public Safety is urging those who may have witnessed this incident or those with any additional information about the occurrence to call campus police at (713) 743-3333.
