The following is a partial report of campus crime between Sept. 29 and Thursday. All information is selected from the files of the UH Police Department. The information in italics indicates when the event was reported to UHPD and the event’s location. Information or questions regarding the cases below should be directed to UHPD at (713) 743-0600.
Traffic offense: 7:43 a.m. Wednesday, Lot 16B – A student reported that someone struck and damaged her vehicle while it was parked in Lot 16B. The striking driver failed to leave any information. An investigation is under way. The incident occurred between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sept. 30.
Assault: 2:19 p.m. Wednesday, Teaching Unit 2 – A student reported that a man physically assaulted him causing bodily injury. The suspect was identified, arrested and transported to Harris County Jail. The incident occurred between 2:10 and 2:24 p.m. Wednesday.
Traffic offense: 4:41 p.m. Wednesday, Lot 16B – A student reported that someone struck her secured and unattended vehicle while it was parked in Lot 16B and failed to leave the information required by law. The incident occurred between 6:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sept. 30.
Traffic offense: 4:36 p.m. Wednesday, Lot 9C – A student reported to UH Police that he witnessed a vehicle strike an unattended vehicle. The striking vehicle did not leave any information. The complainant was contacted and did not wish to pursue criminal charges. The incident occurred at 12:45 p.m. Sept. 29.
Aggravated robbery: 8:56 a.m. Thursday, Optometry Building – A student reported that two individuals attempted to rob him and his friends on the UH campus. There are no suspects. The incident occurred between 10:15 and 10:30 p.m. Oct. 1.
Burglary of a motor vehicle: 11:28 a.m. Thursday. Bayou Oaks Apartments – A student reported that someone burglarized his unattended and secured vehicle while it was parked in the north parking lot of Bayou Oaks Apartments. An investigation is under way. The incident occurred between 10:50 p.m. Wednesday and 11:28 a.m. Thursday.
Traffic offense: 1:29 p.m. Thursday, Lot 12A – A student reported that someone struck his vehicle while it was parked in Lot 12A. The striking driver failed to leave the information required by law. There are no suspects or witnesses. The incident occurred between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Theft: 8:14 p.m. Thursday, Campus Recreation and Wellness Center – A student reported the theft of his secured and unattended wallet from a CRWC locker. There is a possible suspect and an investigation is under way. The incident occurred between 6:12 and 8:15 p.m. Thursday.
Criminal trespass/warrant: 10:48 p.m. Thursday, Entrance 14 – Two visitors were arrested for criminal trespass after they had received prior notice not to return to the campus. They were transported and released to Harris County Jail. Additionally one of the visitors was also booked into jail for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. The incident occurred between 10:46 and 10:58 p.m. Thursday.
