The following is a partial report of campus crime between Oct. 27 and Friday. All information is selected from the files of the UH Police Department. The information in italics indicates when the event was reported to UHPD and the event’s location. Information or questions regarding the cases below should be directed to UHPD at (713) 743-0600.
Criminal mischief: 1:05 p.m., Oct. 27, Lot 15D -†A student reported someone keyed her vehicle and punctured a tire on her car while it was parked in Lot 15D. An investigation is under way. Occurred between 10:53 a.m. and 1:05 p.m. Oct. 27.
Failure to stop and render aid: 10:23 p.m., Oct, 25, 4600 Cullen Boulevard – A student, who was involved in a collision with another vehicle, reported the other driver fled the scene without exchanging information required by law. No injuries were reported. No suspects have been identified. Occurred between 10:18 and 10:19 a.m. Oct. 25.
Evading arrest: 12:04 a.m., Oct. 28, 4000 Gulf Freeway -†An individual was stopped for multiple traffic violations and when he stopped the vehicle he fled on foot. He was apprehended and arrested for evading officers on foot. He was transported and released to Harris County jail. Occurred between midnight and 12:04 a.m. Oct. 28.
Illegal dumping: 9:12 a.m., Oct. 28, Welcome Center – A staff member reported the illegal dumping of grease into the sewage drain near the Welcome Center. An investigation is under way. Occurred at 9:12 a.m. Oct. 28.
Burglary of a motor vehicle: 1:21 p.m., Oct. 28, Lot 15D – A student reported someone burglarized his unattended vehicle in parking Lot 15D. No suspects have been identified. Occurred between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Oct. 28.
Theft: 2:26 p.m., Oct. 28, Bayou Oaks Apartments -A student reported that she attempted to return a cell phone to her service provider by placing the phone in the outgoing mailbox at Bayou Oaks. The student reported that her service provider informed her that the phone never arrived and that it was currently being used. An investigation is under way. Occurred between noon Oct. 20 and 2:26 p.m.

Failed to Stop and Render Aid: 9:23 a.m., Oct. 28, Texas Spur 5 -†A staff member was involved in a minor accident at Spur 5 and Wheeler Avenue. When the parties involved pulled over the striking driver cursed the staff member, kicked her vehicle, causing more damage and then drove away without giving any information. Occurred at 9:20 a.m. Oct. 28.
Sexual assault: 5:04 p.m., Oct 27, Bayou Oaks Apartments – A student reported that a visitor to her apartment sexually assaulted her. An investigation is under way. Occurred between 3:30 and 5 a.m. Oct. 27.
Burglary of a motor vehicle and credit/debit card abuse: 1:21 p.m. Oct. 28, Lot 15D -†A student reported that someone burglarized his unattended vehicle in parking Lot 15D. There are no suspects. Occurred between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Oct. 28.
Indecent exposure and possession of marijuana: 3:16 p.m., Oct. 29, University Center -†A student observed a visitor masturbating inside a vehicle on Entrance 1. Detaining the suspect, officers positively identified him and found marijuana in his possession. Officers arrested the visitor and transported him to Harris County Jail, Occurred between 3:16 and 3:20 p.m. Oct. 28.
