This week’s report card will be dedicated to the ridiculous antics of, well… the ridiculous. Hey, even The Daily Cougar likes to have a little fun every now and again.
Britney Spears turns the camera on the paparazzi: A
It’s not often that there is Britney Spears news worthy of anything other than a tabloid, but I think we all wish the paparazzi got a little more heat than they usually do.
The pop princess has added a section to her official Web site focusing on the wild antics of the paparazzi called the "PapaRAZZIES."
The section will award the photographer with the most foolish behavior with a video posted on the site. This week’s features a Spears follower walking backwards and falling into what looks like a potted cactus in front of a building.
It doesn’t matter what you think of Spears, this is just plain funny. To check it out, go to www.britneyspears.com/the-paparazzies.
Hannah Montana – toilet cleaner: D
Speaking of pop princesses, Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus said in an Us Magazine article that her first job was for a cleaning service where she cleaned houses.
"I had one normal job, and I actually liked it," Cyrus said. "I can scrub a toilet."
This is just insulting to people to actually have to scrub a toilet.
Cyrus, who will turn 16 this month, should stick to singing, acting and whatever else it is she does, but keep "normal" out of her vocabulary. I doubt she knows what the word means.
Tabloids: B-
Did you see who was at the Los Angeles Lakers game? Did you see what Paris Hilton was wearing? Who is Jessica Simpson dating?
Do you need to know the answers to these questions? No, but we can’t help ourselves. That’s why there are so many successful blogs, magazines and television shows highlighting the day-to-day activities of the rich and famous.
And don’t say that you don’t read the tabloids, because even if you try, you can’t. When you’re at the grocery store in the checkout line, you know your reading the cover of Star or People.
Just admit it – we all need to see how crazy the stars’ lives are in order to realize that ours isn’t so bad after all. There’s nothing wrong with that, is there?
