Dana Christodoulopoulos: So the semester is almost over, how did you like your freshman year?
Mary Chapa: I’ve liked it a lot. It was hard being away from home at first, but once I got used to it I liked it.
Christodoulopoulos: What’s your major?
Chapa: Political Science. I was deciding between either political science or history but decided to go with political science.
Christodoulopoulos: Cool. Do you have any big plans for the Thanksgiving break? Anything exciting?
Chapa: No, not really. My family doesn’t really celebrate Thanksgiving. I’ll be going to Mexico, but that’s about it. I’m just glad to have a little break from school before finals.
Christodoulopoulos: Yeah. Mexico sounds fun though.
Chapa: I’m actually excited about a game I bought on Amazon a little while ago. It just came in today. I want to go play it when I get out of class.
Christodoulopoulos: What kind of game is it?
Chapa: It’s a Nintendo 64 game. It’s one of the older Super Mario games. I haven’t played it in forever, and when I saw it online I just had to buy it. I used to have all the old gaming consoles.
Christodoulopoulos: So do you buy a lot of stuff online like on eBay?
Chapa: Not that often but on occasion. I bought a Babysitters Club shirt on eBay before. I used to read all those books when I was a kid. I loved them, so I thought it would be cool to buy a shirt. It’s hard to find them anywhere now.
Christodoulopoulos: Yeah you can find anything now online. I used to love the Babysitters Club too. I bought the movie when it came out and watched it all the time.
Chapa: That was such a good movie. Actually the main girl in the movie – I can’t remember her name in the movie – is Schuyler Fisk who is a singer now. She’s really good. It’s weird seeing her older now, because I just remember her when she was little and in that movie. I wonder what the other people from that movie are doing now.
Christodoulopoulos: I know. Probably not much. I’ve heard some of Schuyler’s music. It is really good.
