The following is a partial report of campus crime between 5/16/09 and 5/31/09. All information is selected from the files of the UH police department. The information in italics indicates when the event was reported to UHPD and the event’s location. Information or questions regarding the cases below should be directed to UHPD at 713 743-0600.
Burglary: A staff member reported that someone broke into four model apartments and stole audiovisual equipment. An investigation is on going. The incident occurred between 3 p.m. 5/16/09 and 7 a.m. 5/18/09.
Theft: A student reported that someone stole his unsecured and unattended personal property from a rented recreation center locker. An investigation is on going. The incident occurred between 6:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. 5/19/09.
Warrant: A UH DPS officer stopped a visitor for a traffic violation and found the visitor had two outstanding Harris County Precinct 3 warrants. The officer arrested and transported the visitor to Harris County Jail. The incident occurred at 5:33 p.m. 5/23/09.
Failure to Display a Driver’s License: A UHDPS officer observed a visitor violating multiple traffic laws. The officer found that the driver did not have a license to drive. After impounding the vehicle, the officer released the visitor with Harris County citations. The incident occurred at 5:17 p.m. 5/24/09.
Public Intoxication: A UH DPS officer discovered a visitor passed out behind the wheel of a parked vehicle. The officer arrested the visitor for Public Intoxication and released him to the Harris Count Sheriff’s office. The incident occurred at 12:30 a.m. 5/25/09
Possession of Marijuana: UH DPS received a report of the smell of marijuana coming from an apartment at Cullen Oaks. When UH DPS officers arrived at the location, they determined that a student was smoking marijuana inside the room. The student received Student Life and Residential Life Referrals. The incident occurred at 4:34 p.m. 5/26/09.
Theft: A student reported that someone stole four boxes containing various items from his apartment at Cullen Oaks. There are no suspects or witnesses. The incident occurred between 3:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. 5/26/09.
Theft: Service employee reported that someone stole an unattended and unsecured electric golf card from the Athletic alumni building. There are no witnesses or suspects. The incident occurred between 12 a.m. 5/24/09 and 9 a.m. 5/26/09.
Burglary of a Motor Vehicle: A student reported that someone broke into her unattended and secured vehicle while it was parked in lot 15 I. There are no suspects or witnesses. The incident occurred between 1 p.m. and 6:58 p.m. 5/30/09.
Burglary: A UH DPS officer arrested a visitor who confessed to unlawfully entering Robertson Stadium and stealing food from the second floor concession area. The officer transported the visitor to Harris County Jail. The incident occurred between 3:10 a.m. and 3:13 a.m. 5/31/09.
Traffic Offense: A staff member reported that someone struck her parked vehicle and the striking driver failed to leave the information required by law. The incident occurred between 2 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. 5/30/09.
Criminal Mischief: A student reported that someone scratched his unattended and secured vehicle while it was parked in the Cullen Oaks parking garage. There are no suspects or witnesses. The incident occurred between 6 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. 5/31/09.
