FIVE MINUTES: Senior has high hopes for Cougars

Angela Coufal: Do you go to UH football games?

Daniel Ramirez: Yes.

Coufal: How many games have you been to this season?

Ramirez: All the home games.’

Coufal: At the Tech game, did you notice any bad behavior amongst the crowd?

Ramirez: The crowd was definitely excited. There were some people that were acting a little rowdy. For example, I saw somebody throw a beer at a Texas Tech person.’

Coufal: Did you see anyone get into a fight?

Ramirez: No, I didn’t see any fights.’

Coufal: Did you run down to the field at the end of the game?

Ramirez: I started lining up as soon as we scored a touchdown, and people started lining up behind me. When we jumped down, there were people pushing and shoving. It was rough but out of excitement.’

Coufal: Did you have an after-party to celebrate the win?

Ramirez: Of course.

Coufal: How disappointing was the UTEP game?

Ramirez: I almost cried.’

Coufal: Why do you think we lost?

Ramirez: Maybe they went into the game with the wrong mentality, maybe over-confident, thinking they had the win. They are a better team than UTEP. The rushing defense needs some work.’

Coufal: Do you plan to go to all the rest of the home games this season?

Ramirez: Definitely, I’m not going to stop. UH has always been my team. I love this school and I love football.’ I’m not going to stop going to the games because we lost a game; I’ve never been a bandwagon fan.’

Coufal: Make a prediction ‘- will we be ranked at the end of the season? And if so, what number?

Ramirez: I think we have the ability to win the rest of our games and win the conference championship and win the Liberty Bowl, but I think the BCS bowl is out of the picture. I’m going to be optimistic and say yes, we will be ranked No. 18.’
