The busy woman’s bag heads for Target

Another prominent haute couture designer has joined Target’s fashion collections.

Handbag designer Carlos Falchi’s name is synonymous with elegant leather wallets, satchels and purses that can cost more than $4,000.

Target stores across the country debuted the Carlos Falchi for Target collection of handbags Sunday at prices ranging from $19.99 to $49.99.

‘Target is such a great instrument to provide high style at an affordable price,’ Falchi said in a press release. ‘They ensured my vision came to life by using innovative materials, resulting in a collection that is timeless and distinctive, perfect for working women on-the-go with an appreciation for remarkable design.’

After a career of designing costumes for Elvis Presley and Mick Jagger, Falchi nursed a love affair for designing accessories, especially bags.

Although’ faux snakeskin is used instead of leather in this cost-efficient collection, fashionistas will recognize the designer’s rich jewel tones in the purple and plum line, as well as his penchant for elegant yet simple geometric silhouettes.

The Target line also preserves Falchi’s signature python prints and collage techniques, which can be seen in the long, extravagant folds of the purses’ flaps.

Better yet, Target promises that the purses will have several large pockets and interior compartments for busy women who cram their cell phone, make-up kit, wallet, pencil and countless other necessities into one bag.

Savvy shoppers have until Dec. 24 to pick up one of these colorful and elegant bags.
