After many years as Dean of the Bauer College of Business, Arthur Warga will, effective immediately, return to the faculty. Dean Warga will first take a leave, and then return to the finance faculty as a chaired full professor. Dr. Latha Ramchand has agreed to step in as interim dean.
During his term as dean, Arthur built the college into an internationally recognized center of business education and research. Dean Warga hired a world class faculty but he also broke new ground in the management of the college. The rest of us learned a lot from Arthur’s innovations in Bauer.
Arthur really did break ground on new facilities for the college. Cemo hall was conceived and completed during his term as dean. The Bauer College will soon take up new space in the new Business and Instruction Building—space that will support the future growth of Bauer. Arthur also remodeled Melcher hall, a project that set a new standard for academic space on this campus.
I would be remiss not to recognize Arthur’s personal courage in facing various health challenges. Arthur’s prognosis is very good, but it is now time for some well deserved rest.
