Head coach Leroy Burrell and the Cougars won their third consecutive Conference USA Outdoor Championship on Sunday scoring 175 points,
32 more than runner-up Tulsa.

Sophomore Errol Nolan was named the performer of the meet, winning the 200-meter dash in 20.86 seconds. He earned his best mark in the 400-meter dash, taking first place in 45.54 seconds.
Chris Carter repeated as the long jump and triple jump champion with a leap of more than 24 feet and 52 feet respectively. Alex Bentley won the pole vault clearing a height of more than 16 feet.
Tyron Carrier earned the silver medal in the 100-meter dash, clocking in at 10.63 seconds. He placed third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.51 seconds. In the 110-meter hurdles Thomas Lang notched second place in 14.29 seconds, Leon Bullock followed him for third with a split of 14.33 seconds. Jason Perez placed second in the 400-meter hurdles.
For the women’s team Whitney Harris placed second in the 200-meter dash in 23.44 seconds. After winning the preliminaries, Ciera Johnson placed third in the 800-meter run in 2 minutes, 9 seconds. The 4×100-meter relay team of Tai’Shea Reese, Harris, Kalyn Floyd and Grecia Bolton placed second in 43.54 seconds.
UH will now await to see who meets the qualifying marks for the NCAA Championships beginning May 27 in Eugene, Ore.
