Alumnus judge to deliver convocation keynote speech

District Judge Keith P. Ellison will deliver this year’s keynote address for the Honors College Fall convocation at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Hilton Grand Ballroom.

Ellison is the judge for U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas.

A recipient of the Samuel Pessara Award, he was named “Trial Judge of the Year” by the Texas Association of Civil Trial and Appellate Specialists.

He received his law degree from Yale and attended Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar. Ellison currently serves as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the American Law Institute, and is the director of the Harry A. Blackmun Scholarship Association.
