Head coach Jonathan Dismuke believes that having greater trust in their swings will help the Cougars today at the Fighting Irish Grid Iron Classic in South Bend, Ind.
UH opened the season with a 12th place finish at the Golden Gopher Invitational last weekend.
“We addressed the issues from last week,” Dismuke said. “We can’t brush things under the rug and hope they get better. We talked a lot about trust.”
Freshman Roman Robledo was the top performer for UH in its opening event with an average round score of 74, which was good enough to tie for 14th place individually.
Robledo will compete in the 54-hole, two-day tournament with sophomores Bryn Flanagan, Curtis Reed, Wesley McClain, and junior James Ross.
“This is a great course,” Dismuke said, “It’s generous off the tee, but very long and demanding.”
“I expect us to do well. That includes not guiding the ball and to trust our swings.”
