Crime Log: Nov. 19-21

The following is a partial report of campus crime between Nov. 19 and Nov. 21. All information is selected from the files of the UH Police Department. The information in bold indicates when the event was reported to UHPD and the event’s location. Information or questions regarding the cases below should be directed to UHPD at (713) 743-0600.

Criminal Mischief – Nov. 19 1:15 p.m. – Law Library— A student reported that someone vandalized the Law Review office in the basement of the Law Library. There are no suspects. The incident occurred between 9 p.m. Nov. 18 and 11 a.m. Nov. 19. The case is active.

Resisting Arrest – Nov. 19 3:57 p.m. – Robertson Stadium — A student was arrested for resisting arrest when he attempted to flee after refusing to comply with a police officer’s lawful directions. The student also received a student life referral for his actions. The incident occurred at 3:57 p.m. Nov. 19. The case is cleared by arrest.

Robbery: 10:32 p.m. Nov. 5, Parking Lot 9C — A student reported he had been robbed and provided UH police with a description of the suspect, who was seen in a parking lot at 3500 Elgin Ave. a few minutes later. The suspect was arrested and placed in Harris County Jail after being identified by the student.

Criminal mischief: 9:46 p.m. Nov. 6, Parking Lot 1A residents’ area — A student reported an unknown person(s) broke out the rear passenger-side window of his parked vehicle, but no property was missing from the vehicle. Occurred between 8:30 and 9:45 p.m.

Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle – Nov. 19 4:36 p.m. – Robertson Stadium — A staff member reported that someone stole a golf cart during UH/SMU football game. The staff member reported that the golf cart’s ignition keys and other UH keys were also taken. The golf cart was later recovered, but the keys are still missing. The staff member received a staff referral. The incident occurred during the UH football game. The case is active.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor – Nov. 20 12:36 a.m. — A visitor was observed showing signs of intoxication. Upon further investigation, the visitor stated that he had been drinking and was under the legal drinking age. A Harris County citation was issued and the visitor was released to a responsible party. The incident occurred at 12:36 a.m. Nov. 20. The case is cleared by citation.

Theft – Nov. 20 1:22 p.m. – School of Music — A student reported that someone stole his unattended and secured bicycle from the bike rack in front of Moores School of Music. There are no suspects. The incident occurred between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Nov. 19. The case is active.

Theft – Nov. 20 3:38 p.m. – M.D. Anderson Library — A student reported that someone stole her unattended and unsecured laptop computer from the library. The incident occurred between 3:20 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Nov. 20. The case is inactive.

Theft – Nov. 21 10:27 a.m. – Cameron Bldg. — A staff member reported that someone stole a set of unattended and unsecured UH keys from a Cameron building office. There are no suspects. The incident occurred between 2 p.m. Nov. 16 and 2 p.m. Nov. 17. The case is active.

Theft – Nov. 21 2:05 p.m. – Moody Towers — A student reported that someone stole her unattended wallet and cell phone while she ate breakfast in the Moody Towers cafeteria. There are no suspects. The incident occurred between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Nov. 21. The case is inactive.
