The University has been ranked No. 3 on the “Top Ten Most Beautiful College Campuses” article featured on the website profascinate.com.
While the University ranked high on the compilation, others on the list included Ohio State University, Pennsylvania State, University of Central Florida, Auburn University, Arizona State University and University of Miami. The only two schools to outrank UH were No. 2, the University of San Francisco, and No. 1, the University of San Diego.
Each listing displayed a picture of a striking feature on the campus. The picture featured for UH was of the Cullen Plaza fountains. According to the article, “The fountains on campus make it a truly remarkable and beautiful place to further your studies.”
“I think that the Cullen fountains are just one of many unique features at this University that make it so beautiful and interesting,” said geology freshman Sandra Flores.
Recently, the University has done major renovations to the New University Center while also investing in several smaller projects designed to keep the older buildings up-to-date and beautiful.
A noticeable feature of the University is its landscaping. The vibrant flowers and trees that are just now returning with the spring season add color and life to the campus.
“I find the beauty of campus to be the encouragement I need at times,” said elementary education freshman Sabrina Galloway. “The budding flowers and unique architecture add character.”
The reporters at profascinate.com seemed to agree, saying that they just couldn’t “get over how gorgeous and spectacular (the universities on the Top Ten list) are.”
“Our University definitely deserves recognition on a list like that,” Flores said.
