Tony Levine Golf Classic set to benefit student-athletes

The 2014 Tony Levine Golf Classic will be held on Monday, July 21, at the Sweetwater Country Club in Sugar Land. The event will benefit Cougar Pride and the scholarship fund for its student-athletes.

Football head coach Levine and all of Houston’s football coaches, along with various UH sport program coaches, will be in attendance to greet and thank supporters throughout the day. Levine will give insight into the upcoming UH football season. Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Mack Rhoades will also share the latest happenings in Houston Athletics.

Members of the athletics faculty strive to let their supporters know that they are a crucial part of the program.

“We are very appreciative of all of our supporters and the work they have done for the student-athletes and the University of Houston,” said David Bassity, associate AD for strategic marketing and communications. “Without their support, we would not be building the Tier One department that we’re building.”

Registrations will jumpstart the Golf Classic at 11 a.m. This will feature a deli buffet lunch, gift package, driving range access, golf cart, green fee, closest to the pin contests, refreshments on the course and locker room access.

A shotgun start will be at 1:30 p.m. and the Golf Classic will conclude with an awards dinner featuring live and silent auctions.

Participation in this event presents many opportunities. Individual entry fees start at $220 and foursomes start at $880. Anyone interested in participating can contact the Cougar Pride office at 713-743-GoUH (4684). Representatives can also be reached by e-mail at [email protected].
